The 4th Quisumbing Escandor Film Festival (October 2021)

The Mu Sigma Phi Foundation Inc., has sponsored the Quisumbing Escandor Film Festival since its inception in 2008. Although records from the first two are not in our possession, for the 3rd QEFF, of which I was involved with, the MSPF Inc. donated P50,000, an amount that went a long way. The 3rd QEFF Film opened in 2016, and its Awards Night was on February, 2018. We received 74 film entries all tackling the issue of mental health. Farewell Sis Ma’am, Doctor Adelaida Dalmacio – Cruz (December 29, 2020)

A luminous icon in the annals of medical pathology in the Philippines, Adelaida (Ida) Dalmacio-Cruz (ADC) passed away in Thousand Oaks, California on December 29, 2020 at the age of 94. Fundraiser for Dr. Mikki B. Miranda

The Mu Sigma Phi Foundation is helping fundraise for our sis, Dr. Mikki B. Miranda, Batch 2016, in her fight against Recurrent Ovarian Cancer, initially at stage 3. She is undergoing a second-line chemotherapy for six months, after which she will need to be maintained on a very expensive oral medication named Olaparib (Lynparza) that is still under compassionate use in the Philippines. The drug costs 240 thousand pesos (USD 4,800) for which she will have to take for two (2) years. Sis Mikki underwent surgery and six cycles of chemotherapy in 2019.
